Inlove?

no. i'm just inspired.

have i finally found him? honestly, i don't know. it may be or may be not him, but i just thank God (almost) everyday for the kilig moments that i have with him.

i just want to post something but can't think of anything to write about. i'm just happy now.

ummm.. to all the filipino readers, what's the english term for kilig?

uy, tin. sige, baka ma-usog pa, wag mo na ikwento ang details. it's enough that we know you're happy and inspired.

hmmm, kilig...literal meaning is shiver or shudder. you could just flourish it off with other words.

e.g. "i shiver/shudder in excitement everytime he's near"

ok na ba? i'll give you an exam tomorrow.

How about the word "tingle"? As in "I was tingling with excitement as I approached him".

some tagalog words are really difficult to translate to english. same goes for cebuano, hiligaynon, and other dialects. uy tin-tin ha, i can just imagine you smiling and smiling and smiling... i'm glad you're happy these days. ;)

tin-tin said...

mei: just cloud eight. hahaha :)

carey: thanks carey. yup, some words are hard to translate. aNd sometimes these are words that really captures ones feelings

it's about bloody time, Tin! Pumuporma na ba? :) Good luck. It's nice to be in that feeling and situation. It's like an itchy foot that you cannot scratch because you're wearing a high-cut shoes. .. (Forgive the un-imaginative comparison).

tin-tin said...

rey: hahaha. i like your comparison. ang weird. naisip mo yun? hahaha ;p

hi! i think kilig in english is giddy

It's that inexplicable happiness and excitement when you see your crush, or someone you really really like. You can't help smiling when you think of them or imagine that you're together.

Kilig is... giddy!

How I'd use it:
1. I get giddy whenever I see my crush.
2. I can't believe you still get giddy over your husband after four years of marriage!
3. [when you see your 'kinikilig' friend]: Wow, you're giddy!

i searched for it too and found this definition :)
