Guard My Heart

i am currently watching a Korean drama, with one episode left. it's a thriller. title is Sohn (The Guest).

it's about a psychic, a priest and a detective working together to stop the possessed from killing and exorcise the possessed.

i'm not a horror fan, but i can't stop watching this. it really made me follow it every week.

but every time i watch the drama, it makes me think. how am i as a person? how is my heart? is it free of hatred and bitterness? how can i guard my heart that i won't have bitterness in my heart?

i remember this episode, he loves his family. his family is his life. but still in the end, when he was possessed, it revealed that deep in his heart he had some bitterness in his heart regarding his family.

so if ever i would encounter someone/something who would want to possess me, would i be possessed?

also, this drama made me pray more. i am the kind of person who likes to count the seconds. i mean for example, i am waiting of something, i will count the seconds. but now, instead of counting i would recite the Lord's Prayer (Our Father).

so how about you? how's your heart?

Quotable Quotes: Kaitou Tantei Yamaneko

i hate to regret things. but i really do regret not posting in pinterest the screenshots of the scenes/lines that i like from the jdorama Kaitou Tantei Yamaneko. i just saved them in my laptop and during the holy week, my laptop just crashed. sigh.

i just posted two in pinterest. as much as i would like to watch the drama again and screenshot them, i decided to just use it in watching other dramas. hello, i still have a long list of plan to watch. so i will just watch once in a while and post/update this again.

a little about the drama. i kinda accidentally watched it when i saw in my feeds that it was subbed. i don't know why i decided to just try it. and i really enjoyed the first episode. and one big surprise is Narimiya Hiroki was there. i like him as an actor. so i decided to continue and i'm glad i did. i really enjoyed the drama. and Kame as able to prove himself that he could be an actor. i saw him in another drama before, and i hated his acting. hehe. the best part of Kame in this drama? his singing voice. hahahaha.

i also like some of the lines (obviously, why would i have this post if not, right?). here are some of the quotes that i like:

Ji Jia Wei's Quotable Quotes

it's been a long time since i watched a taiwanese drama. and as you know, i get influenced easily. so when i saw several posts about Murphy's Law of Love with pictures of danson tang also, i told myself that i should give it a try.

and tried i did. and i got hooked. taiwanese are sooo good in making romantic comedy dramas. even if the drama is full of cliches. and even if i always were able to guess what will happen next (that's how cliche it is), but still i loooved it and was still hooked.

ji jia wei is a sweet guy in his own way. and handsome too. hehe. but anyway, even he is a cold porkchop, his words are gem that people can learn from. so i made this post to write those quotes. and just because i want to write something in my blog..

"I don't wish to hurt somebody else with the past between us two." - what he told his ex when she gave instructions to a friend on what ji jia wei needs when he has the flu

"You can be angry, but you can never ignore me." - as i always say.. the opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference

"If a plane can get to that place, then it's not that far away."

"Why are you always deciding on the outcome even without trying?" - i am guilty of this

"I thought I had the ability to give you happiness but I didn't imagine that my love would make it so hard for you."

"Sometimes dating is just like that. It's like dancing. If you miss one step, all the steps afterwards will be wrong... One moment impacts a lifetime."

his girlfriend is the dr. love, but i learned a lot more from ji jia wei. still, his girlfriend the dr. love has one quotable quote for me:

"Why did we learn so much from this relationship but can only fulfill it with someone else?"

all i can say about xiao tong's (dr. love quote) is that, i don't know why you're not together? even if the drama would end with less than 19 episodes and even if i'll miss ji jia wei, it's okay. because as the drama still goes on, it just became dragging.

oh well, i still loved it. i still gave it an 8/10 rating.

Liar Game

Liar Game..

my favorite japanese series. it's a different kind of series not your usual story. it will make you think and be confused. it's not a lovestory but a mind game.

anyway, akiyama is a psychologist who brought down a networking company before. and nao is an innocent girl who asked for his help for this game.

for all the liar game series and the new movie ( with a new girl lead), the girl lead would always ask the help of akiyama. but along the way, when the game is getting really tough, they would doubt him and not follow him.

well, it just made me think about my faith. i would always ask God for His help. sometimes it's really clear on what He wants me to do. but it's not my comfort zone, it's an answer i am not used to, and when life is getting really tough, i would abandon Him. i will not follow Him. i would think of "something better/solution", but in the long run, i would realize that everything would be easier if i just followed Him. i may not know the reason but He knows the game plan, i just don't follow it.

just like nao in the series, akiyama wouldn't tell her his game plan. even if akiyama's game plan seems stupid but in the end, nao will just realize, he is right all along. why did i not just follow him?

it really takes faith to trust.

And the Series Goes On

i admit. i love watching drama series. and somehow, i prefer asian series. why? because they are just a number of episodes. unlike american series that have lots of seasons. it's just that, sometimes after the first season, i don't get to follow anymore.

here are my favorite series. you could try watching them if you like. i'm sure you could find subbed versions. hehehe.

Bad Family/Wanted: Perfect Family
vacation period.. tv was on a local channel for our maid. so i got to see an episode and i think i became curious or had some questions on the episode. so i tried to look for it on the internet. watched it and liked it. the kid made me cry. and i got introduced to heechul of super junior. but i still didn't know super junior that time.

summary (korean series):
a little girl was the only survivor when her family met an accident. she had amnesia and the doctors said that what could help her is to recreate her family and have her experience happy moments. so her dad's secretary hired "uncle" to create a family.

Bambino
i have written about this before. really an inspirational drama series for me. and i have seen this when i needed it most. a good watch for those who are having a hard time with their career lives.

summary (japanese series):
bambino came to tokyo to be an italian chef. he realized that being a chef is not an easy task

Devil Beside Youbecause of some multiply posts, i watched another taiwanese series. then someone recommended this. i started watching this, and i prefer this than the other series that was talked about. hehe. common story actually. honestly, i don't know why i included this. maybe just to add something from taiwan. hehe.

summary (taiwanese series):
qi yue is admitting her love to her crush thru a love letter, but he didn't see it. and next thing, it was in the hands of the school's biggest bully. they got close but then the bully's dad is marrying qi yue's mom.

Fullhouse

i think this is the first korean series i watched in dvd. caught some episodes of it in our local channel and liked it. and it's popular here. so i borrowed the dvd, and i love it. really funny. i like rain here better than in ninja assassin. hahaha.

summary (korean series):
a famous actor bought a house and lived in it without the knowledge of the owner. in order for the owner, an ordinary girl, to get the house back, she served as his servant and then they had a contract marriage with the house at stake.

Maging Sino Ka Mananother series that i have posted about before. my family was able to watch the pilot episode. because of that, we had watched this drama. and because i liked it. especially the lines.

summary (filipino series):
jackie was believed to be dead. she had amnesia and met eli, a poor boy. they got married in the province. but in reality, jackie is a rich girl who is an only daughter and has a fiancee, jb. there is also jackie's cousin who is also her bestfriend, celine, who is inlove with jb.

The Slingshot/ Story of a Man
saw this accidentally, which is a good thing. i was doing something and the channel in our tv was on kbs world. and this is the show that was being shown that time. caught a few scenes, then later on i realized i was really watching already. then i researched on when the next episodes will be shown, and started really watching it. this was not popular in korea, but i really love it, and i have not seen any bad reviews yet. it's not your typical series. not a love story, but a suspense that talks about stocks, business, politics, etc. and what makes it good is that it is a battle of wits, on how the lead can outsmart the bad guy. and i really told my sister to watch it. now, we're watching it. yes, it's okay with me to repeat it. and i have not seen the first episodes, so it's okay.

i just saw the tagline: "his sling was in his hand and he approached goliath." now i know why it's titled slingshot. hehehe. but the tagline is right.

summary (korean series):
kim shin is seeking revenge for the death of her brother who committed suicide due to bankcruptcy of his company because of false reports. he is against chae do wu, son of the chairman of a large company. do wu is a smart evil guy, and has to outwit him to be able to survive.

Soulmate
honestly, i can't remember how i came across this series. i just remembered looking for reviews on the series, and they are all good reviews. haven't seen anything bad. so i really tried to look for subbed videos (which is really hard). finally, the broken links were fixed. and one soul from australia was kind enough, she sent me a dvd of the series! as she said, sharing is good.
this series made me think if soulmates do really exist. and this has the best ost! and the ost is in english!

summary (korean series):
honestly, i don't know how to summarize this. dong wook is a playboy, met a naive girl. then he met his soulmate without knowing it, until he realized she is his soulmate.

You Are Beautiful

got curious about this since i've kept on reading articles about its premier. so i said, i'll try to watch the first episode. my sister watched with me. then next thing we know, we've been addicted already. it was shown in korea on wednesdays and thursdays, my sister and i would be excited for thursdays and fridays because that's when the subs would come out. hehe. quotable quotes also, which appeared in my facebook statuses. hehehe.

summary (korean series):
go mi nam pretended to be her brother as new member of the popular all boy-group a.n.jell. two of the members know that go mi nam is really a girl and is falling for her.

___________________

sorry for a bad summary. and nonsense review. if you've got time, it's nice to check out even just one of the series.

and why i wrote this? i don't know, maybe by writing the series that i like you still get an idea on the real me.

hope everyone's having a good 2010 :)

by the way, the pictures are from the url when you click it.

Bambino

from korean to japanese.

one day, son excitedly texted me. (i'm sure she was excited. i can feel it in her message.) she's recommending to me to watch a japanese drama series "Bambino" if i want to be inspired in my career. that if i feel down because of career-related stuff, i should watch this series. honestly, i was doubting her since the star is jun matsumoto, who she has a crush on. i was thinking she only wants me to watch it because of jun matsumoto. hehehe.

but still i tried it. and she is right. it really is inspiring. my sister would once in a while nudge me when there's a scene or words that she thinks i can relate to. but 90% of the film i can elate to. even if he's a chef, it's still applicable to me. what's nice about the show is that the concept is not the usual love story but really on career.

bambino = bambi, meaning baby. i'm also a bambino, i guess that's why i can really relate to it.

and of course, here's some lines that i like:

1. I can't fight back.
2. Change of order. (because of this, my sister and i won't change orders anymore in the restaurant. hehe)
3. You're tired because you have too many wasteful movements. If you don't think about your job priorities, your tasks get slowed down.
4. Don't be impatient about the stuff infront of you. Prioritize beforehand.
5. Nice. (i think i was really like bambino when this was said to him. hahaha)
6. It's hard to think that one is not needed. There is nothing more upsetting than not being useful.
7. In the end, it's whether or not you run away from there.
8. Everyone is the same. Everyone who works has some discouragement in their lives.
Even still everyone continues on working. That's what it means to work for a living.
9. Guys who don't focus on the work infront of them don't have the right to talk about their dreams.
10. In this world, few people find their true calling. For everyone, more or less, it's unjust. But what will you do then? Will you stay there and rot? Will you work hard to turn it into something positive? Or will you look for some place else?
11. It can't be helped if you made mistakes. You can't change the past. The important thing is that you think properly about why you made mistakes.
12. People who can do their jobs are supporting those who can't.
13. You get tense because you don't have confidence in your skills. You have no confidence so you get your work done and you want to get away from the table. When you do that, you look panicky infront of the customers. All you think about is not making a blunder.
14. If people like you have confidence in their skills, then you will be fine.

i really recommend that you watch it :)

Korean Mania

my sister had news for me that really got me excited. Bigbang MIGHT come to manila!!!! i was really excited with the news yesterday. G-dragon and Daesung!! yes, and also Top. but still, g-dragon and daesung. hahaha. (a little background, sandara park created a buzz in korea because of her kissing scene with top in a music video. and i think she'll be part of a new female group)

i'm sorry. i am kinda into korean showbiz recently. and i like the music of Bigbang. actually, yesterday before my sister told me the news, i had the song "Lies" in my head all morning.

so, how did i end up liking bigbang and korean showbiz? it's because i've been addicted with this korean variety show, Family Outing. it started when my sister let me watch it because the guest was Bi Rain, then the next guest was Cha Tae Hyeon (the guy in My Sassy Girl). i tried to look for the first episode and the guest was cute, Kim Dong Wan of Shinwa. bwahaha. and the rest is history. and since they feature different guests every show, you would try to learn on who the guest is. recently, they had Daniel Henney and (to my sister's delight) Top.

yoon jong shin, park yejin, lee chunhee, kim sooro, yoo jaesuk, lee hyori, daesung (kim jong kook is not in the picture)

it's really a funny show, and as you would always watch it, they would somehow be like part of your familly too. from korea's sexy diva lee hyori, chunderella (lee chunhee), dumb and dumber yoo jaesuk (the best mc for me) and daesung (from bigbang), sweet park yejin (surprisingly was the villain in Memories in Bali), stepmom kim sooro, the newest member kong jong kook, to oppa yoon jong shin.

i hope my sister won't get mad at me for posting this. she told me not to be excited coz it might get jinxed. i hope not. anyway, i'll go back to watching family outing. thanks to the subbers.

Talented

when i get the chance to be home early saturday evening, i make it a point to watch talentadong pinoy (talented filipino) in channel 5. it's a filipino version of america's got talent or britain's got talent.

there's always a lot of contestants. for some you'll really be amazed. but there are some who would gross you out and you would not want your children to see coz they might imitate them. it's just great to see that there are really a lot of filipinos who are talented.

i can't join that contest coz i don't know what i'll present. how about you? if you'll join the contest, what talent will you show?

Travel Rants

The other night, I went home late from work and I saw the TV show Trip na Trip. It’s a travel show that features places in the Philippines. It’s not the typical really serious documentary travel show but they’re really trying to make it funny and fun.

I was watching and then my mom would change the channel. I told her, “Don’t change the channel. I am not yet done torturing myself.” Yes, I really used the term torturing myself. Because honestly, while I was watching, I can’t help but get envious at them traveling and enjoying all over the country (it’s my ultimate goal to visit every place in the Philippines), and getting paid for it. Haayy….

Also, I realized that I should visit Batanes soon. I’ve always wanted to go to Batanes (way back college or highschool days), and it just sucks that I haven’t visited the place yet and almost everyone has it in their itinerary already. I don’t want to lose my interest in the place just because everyone is into it already. For those who had been reading my blog for the longest time, they know what I mean. I am selfish I know.

I am just ranting here because I have nothing to post, and I want to update my blog.

A 5th Grader's Dream

it's always said that when a door closes, a window is opened. i didn't very much feel that quote until recently when an email was sent somehow like that. it's about thanking God for closed doors just as much as you're thankful for open doors.

last year, i thought i was going to transfer to a new company, a (slightly) dream company.. but i don't know what happened. it didn't push thru. i really questioned God. but after reading the email, i've realized something. if not for that, i wouldn't make a step in fulfilling my ultimate dream. and so now i've made a step. i applied for my dream to come true. and now i'm asking for your prayers. hahaha. coz for me i only have ten percent of passing. but i'm really hanging on that ten percent. so guys please pray for me. thank you :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

last night, while i was channel surfing, i came across a quiz show in QTV. the title is Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? it's like who wants to be a millionaire but the people who can help you are 5th graders. the questions ranged from 1st grade to 5th grade subjects. yup, they are. and of course since they are elementary topics, and i've graduated a long time ago.. i flunked. hahaha.

sample of the questions i was not able to answer:
What sphere is the lowest layer of the earth? --> well, i remember before that i had a hard time memorizing all these spheres.. mesoshpere, troposhphere, etc.
How many feet in a mile?
How many moons does mars have?
How many of the interior angles in a scalene triangle have the same number of degrees? --> okay.. this is a 3rd grade question. i can't remember that in our 3rd grade math.

haaay... if i'm not even smarter than a 5th grader.. how can i fulfill my dreams? see! i badly need your prayers. hahahaa :)

Heroes

i have just finished watching Heroes. a tv series in america that almost all of my friends have finished watching months ago. we had a dvd months ago but i have not seen it until last weekend. and i liked it.

but honestly, when i see matt partman, the one who can read minds, i get bothered. it's like when i watched the movie What Women Want starring Mel Gibson. it's scary. more scary than those with nuclear power. it's because, it's like my mind is the only thing where i can have my privacy. my thoughts, dreams, etc. it's like the only place where i can be secured. did you get it? basta... after watching the movie and again heroes, it always make me think that i should be careful with my own thoughts coz someone might be able to read it.

one thing you would hear from he series over and over again is the word... destiny.

have you ever thought what your destiny is? and if ever you'll have a superpower, what would it be?

Quotable Quotes

i had been a fan of Maging Sino Ka Man. it's a television series here in the philippines. i got addicted to it since i've watched it from the beginning. and the actors are really good. it would really make you feel the drama. it has just ended last night, but there's a book 2. honestly, i don't know if i'm happy that there's book2 or maiinis. hehehe. but i think i'll still watch the book2. hahaha. and another thing that makes me like it, are the lines.. quotable quotes. and as a tribute to that, here is my list of the quotable quote lines.. for my foreign readers, i am sorry. i'll not translate the lines. i might translate it the wrong way. hehe.

"I never... said that... I love you." - JB (the ever-famous line)
"Yes, I am a slut, but I am the best slut in town." - Celine
"You don't need to love me back. Just let me love you." - JB
"Kailangan mo magpalaya para maging malaya." - Dadoods
"If I haven't said it yet, I want to say it now, I love you." -Celine
"Halos hindi na kita makita, kaya lahat ng pagmamahal iniiwan ko sayo." - Eli
"Buong buhay natin, hanap tayo ng hanap ng magmamahal sa atin, mamahalin natin. Pero pag nandyan na, pag hawak mo na madalas pinababayaan na lang natin makawala. I mean, what is it ba? Is it pride? Fear? Natatakot ba tayong masaktan?" -Celine
"Kahit sa pamamaalam, pwedeng magmahal." - Dadoods
"I've never been a traveller for I have never left. I am lost simply." -JB
"I know that you don't love me. But you better not somebody else.."-JB

there are still lots of quotable quotes but these are all i can remember. and how come i know these lines? it's because when i heard these line, i texted it agad to my friends. hahaha :)

Opposite of Love

I was watching a Filipino telenovela the other night. And a line really struck me. “The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference.” Well, I guess it is really true for me. Coz even if you say that you totally hate this person, but always pays attention to him and thinks often about him, then you still love the person. But if you say you love a person but you’re indifferent to him and becoming insensitive to his feelings, then think again if you still really love that person. And don’t people get more hurt if the one they care about is indifferent to them?
