unpretty

i see myself as beautiful. but when others (especially specific persons) keep on saying negative things about you, then somehow, you start to believe otherwise. it might be a joke or they're just teasing you, but if these same people keep on repeating it, and they never say anything positive to you. they never compliment you but just see faults, then i guess i can take only much. i can be patient, but my patience has its own limitations.

am i being too sensitive? maybe. but maybe the reason for this is because, just for once.. can i be appreciated by these same people?

Beauty, as a very well known quote tells us-- is an experienc--nothing else. It is not a fixed pattern or an arrangement of features. It is something felt, a glow or a communicated sense of fineness. What ails us is that our sense of beauty is so bruised and blunted, we miss all the best.
Me, for example, like saying you're pretty not because i want to enflate your ego but because i'm experiencing it while looking. Sadly, some people don't look it this way, especially if they already see you with judgment within them.
Just remember this:
It's beauty that captures the attention, but it's personality which captures the heart.

So be happy. Nothing breaks you today.

rey: thank you so much rey. don't worry, i'm not egoistic coz of your comments. hehe. maybe they think i'm perfect that's why they're really trying to look for my faults. hahaha. yun na! :)

You cannot please everybody, but you can use your palm to slap them LOL!

You know what, make it sure that your outside their perimeters. They suck and spit those pipol that are far better than them

You go Gurl!

Cheer up Tin, and don't take to heart what other say about your looks. I've been called a lot of things but I just let it slide.

Just look at Mother Theresa, isn't she the most beautiful woman in the world?

Don't bother, they are probably jealous people!

Hi! Basta someone with a beautiful heart is always a beautiful person. :)

I was also insulted by someone I do not even know na para bang she's so perfect. Whatever.

So wag mo na silang pansinin. It's always the personality that counts. I think you have a beautiful heart lalo na yung pagconsider mo na paupuin ang mga preggy women. :)

tin-tin said...

melai: so from now on, you're miss gorgeous :)

piolo: wow! thank you :)

snglguy: yung isa maganda. yup, mothere theresa is the kost beautiful woman i saw. and i hope i can have a heart as beautiful as hers :)

hi tin-tin, tama ka. we need positive feedbacks from people we love or are important to us. Affirmation and confirmation of our worth as human beings - i have this friend who keep on making jokes out of my laughable character and then all of a sudden i got sick of it and just did not want to talk to this guy anymore. we don't need people who do not appreciate and see our true selves, diba?

tin-tin said...

duke: thanks duke :)

jase: you got it!!!! it's okay once in a while but daily jokes? i don't think i can last..

You know yourself more than anyone. Ikaw makakaalam kung may halong concern yung comments syo or purely insults.

Tama sila, you can't please everybody, meron at meron talagang mga kontrabida.

tin-tin said...

bw: i'll cheer up when i already have starbucks. hehehe ;p

mai: hahaha. kinanta ko nga! bawal ba? hehehe ;p

ann: that's the problem with me.. i always want to please everybody :(

Thouse comments often comes from people with less selfasteam and with a negative attitude to themsel and then to otheres. I know it is difficalt not to take notice, but they ar not worth your attention. Beside, beauty comes from the inside too and you have a lot of it Tin-tin!

tin-tin said...

wow! thanks renny! :)

vina said...

we don't always have to please everybody, Tin, inasmuch as we don't always have to go around seeking appreciation from other people.

live your life the way you want it - beautifully, rightfully. let them live theirs.

I still think mabait ka pag nagpapaupo ka ng mga preggy. Kasi you're not being selfish. tsaka ibang guys nga di ginagawa yun, eh girl ka pa! :)

anyway, don't even try to please everybody. there's a saying nga na 'if you want to fail, try to please everybody' naku wag na! not worth it. :)

tin-tin said...

vina: i hope i can do it not trying to think of pleasing others but just doing what is right. you're Back!!! :)

everything's beautiful naman. life, nature, you. its just that, different people see things in different ways. you may be beautiful to one person, and not-so-beautiful to the other.... same shit. pero different lang ang pananaw nila sa 'kagandahan'... do i make sense? haha. pasenxa. sabog. pinilit lang magkommento... hehe

Tin, so many people love you! Can't you see in your blog? :) And it also seems that your sister and brother love you! You're one lucky gal!

Those who say negative things, wag mong papatulan ha... you're way beyond that.

Relationships involve a lot of different types of interactions. However, if what the people around you are saying is wearing you down or not helping to build your self esteem then you need to let them know that they should stop.

If that doesn't work, then you need to consider changing your environment.

Some people are very tactless and keep harping on the same dumb comment / joke / insult over and over and over again until all you want to do is punch them in the mouth and scream at them to shut up. sigh. But civilized people don't do this.

Like some one once said, if you want to soar with eagles, then don't hang around with chickens.

In some cultures irony (saying the opposite of what is true) is common - British humour is often based on that. Of course, there are always those who will are really mean and use the guise of "I was just joking" to deliver their meanness.

Stand up for yourself and let people know that you don't like the comments they are saying. If you are not used to doing that, then it will be hard, but trust me it is better to put an end to it as soon as possible rather than being worn down little by little each day. Remember that a drop of water may not be very powerful compared to stone, but that drop of water, falling everyday will eventually wear away the stone.

try the art of ignoring them. if they are friends, they'll realized you don't approve they way they do things; if they can't get it, who needs friends like them..

surround yourself with beautiful people. by that, i mean beautiful inside and out. dizz those pangets.

tin-tin said...

cruise/piolo: smart lang tlga ako. hahaha. what do you mean we'll not meet anymore in the blogging world????

tin-tin said...

richard: i hate confrontations. i just cry. but i guess people get it from there coz they stopped teasing me. heheeh. somtimes however you would like to change your environment, you can't :)

vic: thanks vic. what i'm trying to learn is the art of war. hehe ;p

theres nothing wrong with criticisms. just learn how to take them gracefully. you can actually use them to your advantage like improving yourself etc.
