Operation Help-out
With the present state of the Bicol region after the typhoon, my friend decided to organize a relief operation for them. Well, since it is almost a one-man team, it was just a small one. A help targeting a hundred families. I helped my friend by also asking some of my officemates to donate something especially food. Also, I helped with the packing of these goods. So while packing the goods, I felt really overwhelmed. It’s because there were just only 6 of us there and all of us are helping out, not because our company said so, it’s not for our school, office, organization or for anyone but it is because we just wanted to help out. and when we were labeling our box, we don’t know how to label it since we don’t represent anything. We just want to help on our own. Ang galing lang! Those who have helped out won’t be recognized because they have no names. They can’t say thank you to this Organization or Company, because it’s not a group, they are all individuals who have just created a team.
And something that I can’t forget is when we were packing the donated clothes. While sorting out, Ace told us “Remember that these are not poor families.” It’s true. They are not poor families. They live in nice subdivisions, houses in Bicol then in a blink everything is wiped out. And now they don’t have anything. We really don’t know what fate would bring us.

That's a good thing your doing with your friends Tin. And the fact that you're all doing this out of the goodness of your collective hearts is all the more touching. Kidos to you and your friends. :-)
I just wish those politicians would have enough rooms in their heart to be as generous without having any ulterior motives.
I do want to correct you a bit on that last paragraph. While it's true that some of the victims aren't "poor", a majority of those affected however, are. They are the ones who live on the fringes of the city, at the fields and by the rivers near the volcano.
It really feels good when you help - anonymously. Wish many more people have your intentions. :)
Kudos for helping out during this disaster. Good job!
I've been to Legaspi City and Sto. Domingo, a place within 6 kilometers of Mayon, last Friday and Saturday (stayed there until signal Number 2 was raised over the region)to help turnover the relief goods to the leaders there. It was heart breaking.
That's very bighearted of you Tin-Tin. I hope your goodness would reach a lot of people. Sometimes, it is more heart-wrenching when people who have lose everything.
That's so mother theresa of you Tin. May God bless your project and may He sooth the pains and sufferings of those who have none.
para din silang nasunugan, na wipe out ang mga gamit. i hope makatulong ng husto ang mga effort nyo, what a kind heart you have...
i pray madali silang maka recover sa trahedya na dumaan sa kanila :)
this is great tin. god bless you and your friends.
Yes indeed, what a nice feeling of helping to those who are in need.
God bless you Tin-tin.
Btw, I got your link from RennyBA. But I've been seeing you many times at my friends blog...nice meeting you online, Tin.
I read in the Manila Bulletin Online about Bicol. It's sad, really. I do hope that everyone would be okay soon!
My prayers are with all the victims. Amen.
You are really going a good thing Tin-tin!
I heard about this dreadful typhoon in the news in Norway too and was worried about you and other friends over there. Glad you are safe and sound then!
hi tin-tin. good luck in your relief efforts. when we were very much affected by the lahar during the '90's, we appreciated those who took their time out to donate not-so-old clothes. well, beggars can't be choosers. but then, it's the right thing to do if you consider that those who got affected aren't all poor.
bihira ang katulad mo kaya saludo ako sa iyo!
This is indeed a very thoughtful and nice act to do. Especially this Chritmas season where giving makes more the spirit meaningful.
Heey!
haha, no I didn't invent handball xD I wish I had, then I would've been rich :D
What happened in Bicol is a tragedy!
It is good that there are still people like you who care! Thank you !
Now that's a great way to spend Christmas. :)
I've always wanted to volunteer for overseas work, the gritty stuff like living in huts and distributing vaccines in a remote village in Addis Ababa or something like that. I'm just too I dunno caught up with my own life to pursue it... maybe sometime in the future. All talk, no action. That's me.
You have a big heart and it really shows. :)

Great to hear that you and your friends are helping out in the community in your own way. That's truly commendable. Keep up that spirit :)
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to you Tin. Hope you have a safe and enjoyable holiday with your loved ones:)
Ate tin, napansin ko lang. Parang every sunday ka nag uupdate ah. Hehehe!
Iba talaga ang buhay. No matter how cliche this may sounds, "and buhay ay parang gulong, minsan nasa taas, minsan nasa baba." Sa isang iglap, nawala ang lahat. Im glad at tinulungan mo sila. Sana marami ka pang matulungan. :) God bless!
